The following is my response to Dr. Christopher Long's posting on Closing the Digital Research Circle.
Here are what I am doing:

This site allows users compare site traffic of three sites with a free version. This helps us understand which entity is doing well and how they do well. I use it when I want to choose a website to benchmark. If you are trying to build your own web-presence or web-based services, I highly recommned using compete.com.
Here's a Youtube video. You can also find other videos on compete.com.
I was searching for alternative keyboards (my keyword for that was "word processor") in order to make my writing work efficiently. I found some really good portable word processor in terms of battery life. They were from 50 to 700 hours with using three to four AAA batteries. I saw a Youtube video telling that a teacher used the device without changing batteries over a year.
I am considering to buy a Kindle, although iPad seems great. Here are some of the reasons that I keep thinking of Kindle.
One of my colleagues shared this wonderful site with his fellow students including me. A major change from the APA 5th to the APA 6th is the use of DOI. Unless the article doesn't have DOI originally, scholars using the APA 6th manual should provide each article's DOI.
It is not a fishing website. You don't need to pay for setting up a conference call. They provide call recording service even for free. In order to set up a toll-free conference call, it requires a small fee. However, for personal use, I think generally people won't need a toll-free conference call. If you are concerned with telephone bill for conference calls, you can use the unlimited call US & Canada option of Skype (about $3 per month).
Sometimes, I scan pages of books that I rent when the price of the book is really expensive and the book is critical to my research. It takes a long time. However, if I could use the following device, it would be GREAT! The downside of the technology is that it may cause copyright infringements.
