DrmTree Associates helps you to find your passion, design your future, and realize your vision. DrmTree is a combination of dream and tree. DrmTree bears fruits that people have dreamed. What DrmTree Associates does is very similar to what farmers do. Farmers first idendify what the seed is and what its potential is. Then, they water it, fertilize it, and sometimes cut off its branches to make it fully grown. DrmTree Associates is in its infancy. However, this infant aims to influence individuals and organizations around the world eventually.
The Founder of DrmTree Associates is Hyung Joon Yoon (People call him "Joon" pronounced like June.
Dr. Hyung Joon Yoon is currently an Assistant Professor of Workforce Education and Development at the Pennsylvania State University. He worked for Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco as HRD Program Coordinator and Assistant Professor and the George Washington University as Assistant Professor in the Human and Organizational Leanring Department. He is an NCDA certified Career Development Facilitator (CDF) Master Trainer and serves NCDA as Trustree-At-Large.
Dr. Yoon has experience in leadership development, career development, strategic organization development, needs assessment, and evaluation of Human Resource Development (HRD) interventions. He worked for Korean organizations, such as LG Display, Samsung, Korea Leadership Center, the Korean Army, Penn State Management Development Programs and Services, and Penn State Career Services. While he held these positions, he served as an HRD practitioner, a career coach, and/or an OD consultant. He also facilitated Franklin Covey’s time management program, named “Focus,” in South Korea, China, Japan, and the U.S., achieving the Individual Greatness Award from Franklin Covey for the program’s measurable effectiveness.
Dr. Yoon develops assessment tools and training programs in both career and leadership development. He designs the programs in traditional face-to-face as well as e-learning formats. He also validates the soundness of the assessment tools, such as the Leadership Competency Inventory (LCI), which Penn State Business Solutions (previously, Penn State Management Development Programs and Services) provides for their clients. His areas of expertise include facilitating the process of visioning, setting goals, and identifying values for both individuals and organizations. Specifically, in regard to leaders, he specializes in developing leadership pipelines, leadership development curricula, and action learning programs.
Dr. Yoon is also active in the academic world. He has created a self-actualization-oriented career development model, called Human Agency Based Individual Transformation (HABIT) as well as a career assessment tool, named Assessment of Human Agency (AHA). He also developed the Hope Centered Model of Career Development (HCMCD) and the Hope-Centered Career Inventory (HCCI) with Dr. Spencer Niles and Dr. Norman Amundson. He has presented his work at the National Career Development Association (NCDA), the Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD) conferences, and the Korean Society for Human Resource Development (KSHRD).
Dr. Yoon earned his B.EC in Food & Resource Economics, his M.A. in Adult Continuing Education from Korea University, and his Ph.D. in Workforce Education and Development from the Pennsylvania State University. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resource (SPHR), Career Development Facilitator Instructor (CDFI), Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF), and Green Belt in Six Sigma. He is also a NCDA-certified career assessment trainer.
